Bac Ninh: Training and technology transfer for medical staff in Xay Som Bun province (Laos)

BAC NINH - On the afternoon of September 8, the Bac Ninh Department of Health held a meeting to say goodbye to 5 medical staff from Xay Som Bun province (Laos) who had just completed a training and technical transfer course at Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1.

Implementing the cooperation agreement between the Provincial People's Committee and Xay Som Bun provincial government, from June 18, 2025, Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1 received training and transferred techniques to 5 medical staff of Xay Som Bun province, including 2 surgeons, 2 nurses and 1 physician.

Delegates presented flowers to congratulate Xay Som Bun province medical staff on completing the training course.

During nearly 3 months, medical staff of Xay Som Bun province were directly instructed and transferred techniques by doctors and staff of the following departments: General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Emergency, Surgery - Anesthesia and Resuscitation using the hand-holding method.

In particular, focusing on some contents such as: How to enter electronic medical records; care and monitor patients before and after surgery; use of cameras in laparoscopic surgery; methods of washing and suturing emergency wounds; taking blood samples and specimens in emergency; methods of spinal anesthesia; management and screening of surgical site infections...

During the training and technology transfer process, medical staff of Xay Som Bun province practiced and successfully operated on a number of cases of acute appendicitis by endoscopy, opening the anus, closing the anus, combining bone surgery and assisting in some cases...

Comrade Nguyen Van Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, spoke at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, expressed his joy at being able to provide professional support to Xay Som Bun province's medical staff . He emphasized that despite the short training period, with their efforts and determination, the trainees had acquired a large amount of knowledge and successfully completed the training and transfer contents.

He hoped that with the knowledge acquired, when returning to their work units, medical staff of Xay Som Bun province would practice and apply the trained and transferred expertise well, contributing to improving the quality of examination, treatment and health care for people of Xay Som Bun province. During the practical application process, the trainees regularly contacted and exchanged with medical staff of Bac Ninh province to continue receiving professional guidance and support.

On behalf of the medical staff of Xay Som Bun province who came to study this time, Dr. Komua Chêuxa expressed his thanks to the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Health, and Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1 for creating favorable conditions and enthusiastically supporting the staff to study, experience, and practice in a professional working environment. At the same time, he affirmed that he would absorb and apply the knowledge and experience gained into practice, meeting the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of local people.

At the meeting, the Department of Health awarded certificates and rewards to 5 medical staff of Xay Som Bun province who completed the training course.
