Bac Ninh: Social housing support for people who have houses but live far from their workplace

BAC NINH - The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just issued Decision No. 28/2025/QD-UBND detailing the case of people who own houses but are far from their workplace and are entitled to social housing support policies in the province.

According to the Decision, the subjects of application include: People with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs who are eligible for housing improvement support according to the provisions of the Ordinance on Preferential Treatment of People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution; poor and near-poor households in rural areas; poor and near-poor households in rural areas in areas frequently affected by natural disasters and climate change; poor and near-poor households in urban areas; low-income people in urban areas; workers and laborers working at enterprises, cooperatives, and cooperative unions inside and outside industrial parks; cadres, civil servants, and public employees according to the provisions of law; subjects who have returned public housing according to regulations; households and individuals whose land is recovered and whose houses must be cleared and demolished according to the provisions of law but have not yet been compensated with housing or residential land.

In addition, officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers of the people's armed forces, police workers, civil servants, defense workers and public employees currently serving in the army; people working in cryptographic work, people working in other positions in cryptographic organizations receiving salaries from the State budget who are currently working are not yet entitled to the housing support policy for the people's armed forces.

According to the Regulations, the above subjects who own a house but are far from their workplace can buy or lease social housing when they simultaneously meet the following conditions: The distance between the current house location and the workplace of the individual registering to buy or lease is at least 20 km; the distance between the workplace and the location of the social housing project that the subject registers to buy or lease is at most 10 km. This prescribed distance is determined by the actual length of the road trip, calculated according to the shortest route connecting the relevant locations.

The Decision takes effect from the date of signing and promulgation until May 31, 2030.
