Storm No. 10 and its aftermath have severely impacted Quang Tri province. Thanks to the thorough implementation of the "4 on-site" motto, closely following each key area and being resolute in directing and operating... Quang Tri province has minimized human and property damage.
Through storm No. 10, it can be seen that, together with the core forces and the people following the "4 on-the-spot" motto in carrying out the work of fire prevention and fighting, search and rescue, the Provincial Border Guard on the two border lines always "4 together" in key areas, proactively taking measures to ensure the safety of life and property of the State and the people.
On the sea border, before storm No. 10 made landfall, the Provincial Border Guard Command implemented a sea ban from 5 p.m. on September 27, 2025, resolutely not allowing all types of vessels to go out to sea. The coastal border posts announced and called on 8,432 vehicles with 22,422 workers to come ashore and anchor for safe shelter.

On the two border lines, the provincial Border Guard has established 80 disaster prevention and control teams, with 475 officers and soldiers, who have a firm grasp of the situation and are ready to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters. Border guards on the mainland border have deployed 20 disaster prevention and control teams with 55 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local authorities to closely monitor and propagate to people to ensure safety at flooded and landslide areas; mobilize 389 households and 1,325 people to move to safe shelters; maintain 21 teams with 120 officers and soldiers to help people reinforce houses, schools, cultural houses, etc.
Lang Ho, Ca Xeng, Con Roang, Ba Nang border posts... advised the Commune People's Committee to reserve 3.4 tons of rice, 150 boxes of instant noodles and essential necessities, ready to distribute to people in case of long-term isolation and support people in need of evacuation. Ba Tang Border Post welcomed 3 ethnic minority households with 20 people to take shelter from the storm for 3 days.
Pioneers in rescue work
During storm No. 10, there were 2 incidents of fishermen's boats sinking in the province. Specifically: On September 28, 2025, fishing boats BV 4670-TS and BV 0042-TS, when entering Cua Viet channel to avoid the storm, sank about 1.5km from shore due to big waves and strong winds. After receiving the information, the Coast Guard forces of the border stations: Cua Viet port, Trieu Van and ship CN 09 of Con Co Border Guard Station coordinated with functional forces, mobilized fishermen's boats to quickly deploy rescue work, bringing 9 fishermen safely ashore.
Also on September 28, 2025, two fishing boats with registration numbers BV 92756-TS and BV 92754-TS, while anchored in the North bank of Xuan Loc residential group, Bac Gianh ward, to avoid storm No. 10, encountered extreme weather, broke their anchor rope, drifted freely and had an accident, and sank on Gianh river. Four fishermen swam to shore, while nine fishermen were missing at sea.

Under the direct leadership of the provincial leaders; Military Region 4, Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command deployed a force of 30 officers and soldiers to coordinate with the following forces: Department of Search and Rescue - Ministry of National Defense , Provincial Police, Search and Rescue Center of Region 1, Viettel Group... to search for missing victims and salvage sunken fishing boats.
The Provincial Border Guard Command mobilized 27 working groups with 81 officers and soldiers from Roon Border Guard Station to Hai An Border Guard Station along with other forces to search for missing fishermen along river banks, coastlines, and estuaries. They mobilized 4 vehicles including: BP 07-1203 ship; BP 07-0602 ship; MS-BP 07-150 boat and VH 01-BP 07-1203 ship with 28 officers and soldiers to search along Gianh River estuary.
Help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters
Storm No. 10 and its aftermath caused 6 houses to collapse and 3,284 houses to have their roofs blown off or damaged; many schools and office buildings were affected; many crop and aquaculture areas were flooded and suffered heavy damage; traffic routes were blocked due to landslides and fallen trees...
With the spirit of urgency and responsibility, "wherever there is difficulty, there is border protection", after storm No. 10 passed, officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard quickly mobilized with functional forces, local authorities and people to quickly start to overcome the damage, stabilize life and production.
“On the two border lines, especially the sea line, the Border Guard stations are always proactive in flood and storm prevention and control work; coordinate with localities, families, ship owners, and captains to notify and guide vehicles operating at sea to move to safe anchorages; increase patrols and controls before, during, and after storms; organize reasonable and scientific anchoring arrangements for ships and boats at wharves and ports; mobilize and resolutely not let people stay on ships, boats, cages, and aquaculture huts; support and help people move people and property to safe shelters,” Colonel Nguyen Ba Duyet added.
Hundreds of officers and soldiers of the provincial Border Guard, members of the anti-flood shock teams, went to the villages to repair and re-roof houses and move property for the people. At schools, the Border Guard helped clean the schoolyard, repair damaged classrooms, and help students return to school as soon as possible...
Assessing the work of fire prevention and fighting during storm No. 10, Colonel Nguyen Ba Duyet, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Provincial Border Guard Command, said: The Provincial Border Guard always thoroughly grasps and strictly implements the directives and instructions on responding to storm No. 10, and proactively grasps the weather situation early and from afar to promptly direct the entire force to deploy timely and effective response plans; flexibly applying the motto "4 on-site", focusing on "prevention".
