Closing ceremony of literacy class for Dao ethnic women

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On July 15, Economic - Defense Group 5 (Military Region 4) coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Chieu commune to organize the closing ceremony of the illiteracy eradication and anti-illiteracy class for women and people of Con Dao village, Quang Chieu commune (former Muong Lat district).

The class consists of 30 students, mainly Dao ethnic women. In order to facilitate full participation of students, the class organizers arranged the class time in the evening.

Despite many difficulties such as students of different ages, some first time exposed to letters, erratic rainy weather, but with the spirit of overcoming difficulties of both teachers and students, the class achieved positive results.

According to the final exam results, 5 students achieved excellent results (16.7%), 20 students achieved good results (66.7%) and 5 students achieved average results (16.6%). Most of the students were able to read, write and perform basic calculations within 100, some were good at mental calculation.

Leaders of Economic - Defense Group 5 and leaders of Quang Chieu commune took souvenir photos with students of the class.

In the coming time, Economic - Defense Group 5 will continue to coordinate with local Party committees and authorities in the communes of the Muong Lat project area to promote propaganda and mobilize people to actively learn and practice writing in Mandarin. At the same time, it will organize surveys and open more classes to eliminate illiteracy and prevent re-illiteracy in accordance with the actual conditions in the locality.
