On October 15, Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital announced that in response to World Psoriasis Day (October 29), the unit coordinated with the Social Work Center and Ho Chi Minh City Labor Union to organize a fundraising music night for psoriasis and cancer patients on the evening of October 22, at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House.
The program aims to raise funds to support psoriasis patients in difficult circumstances and poor workers with cancer being treated in Ho Chi Minh City, while also contributing to propaganda and eliminating stigma against people with psoriasis.

A deadly disease that causes pain not only on the skin
According to doctors, psoriasis not only causes damage to the skin and organs in the body but also leaves deep scars in the patient's soul.
The itching, pain, insomnia, and long-term treatment costs are just the tip of the iceberg. What is harder to overcome is the inferiority complex, the alienation, and prejudice from society. Many patients have to live in seclusion, afraid to go out, afraid that others will misunderstand that the disease is contagious.
Many patients have fallen into despair because they were not treated like normal people.
Every year, Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital receives and treats more than 52,000 psoriasis patients. Currently, psoriasis is known not only as a skin disease but also as a chronic immune-mediated systemic inflammatory condition, with manifestations in the skin, joints and many other organs in the body.

The characteristic lesion is a red, clearly defined patch of skin with a white, easily peeling scaly surface, often appearing on the scalp, elbows, knees and trunk, but can also occur on the nails, palms, soles, genital area or face...
People with psoriasis are at high risk of developing comorbidities such as psoriatic arthritis, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, depression and other mental disorders.
A common complication that can occur when having this disease is red skin all over the body. Psoriatic arthritis can cause deformity, stiffness of joints, especially in the spine... even cause disability if not detected and treated early.
Join hands to comprehensively heal people with psoriasis
Over the years, Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital has maintained many activities to support psoriasis patients, such as mobilizing staff to contribute when there are psoriasis patients in difficult circumstances to support treatment costs, medicine, health insurance, free meals, etc.

The hospital emphasized that psoriasis is a chronic disease, and people have to live with it for their whole lives, so the community needs to understand, sympathize, share, and open their hearts to love the sick.
In addition to the fundraising concert, from October 27 to October 31 (mornings from Monday to Friday), Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital will launch a week of free examination and consultation for psoriasis, to help the community raise awareness of the disease, detect it early and control it effectively.
Doctors recommend that to control psoriasis well, patients need to understand and avoid factors that cause the disease to flare up; take proper care of the skin; have a healthy diet and lifestyle. In addition, it is necessary to comply with treatment and have regular check-ups to control the disease and detect complications early.
The fundraising program “Healing Music” will have the participation of many singers such as Vo Ha Tram, Phuong Vy Idol… along with many artists, donors, and doctors of Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital.
The program carries the message “Healing music - Join hands to eliminate stigma, give the sick a chance to live a healthy life”. In particular, the organizers reserved 100 invitations for psoriasis patients and their relatives as a thank you, encouraging them to overcome the disease.
