The secret to using AI in learning without being dependent

On July 27, more than 500 students in Ho Chi Minh City attended the skills seminar "Application of AI in study and work" held at the Youth Cultural House (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).

More than 500 students participated in learning about the benefits of AI

This is a program organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center in collaboration with MSI and Nvidia brands, to help students access and use AI applications in study, work and entertainment as well as future career orientation.

At the program, experts in the field of AI discussed and shared with students about the strong impacts of AI, especially in the field of education .

Mr. Pham Anh Duong, Marketing Director - Nvidia Vietnam Company, believes that students need to equip themselves with useful skills and solutions to turn AI into a companion but absolutely not depend on these tools.

Not only attracting students majoring in information technology, students majoring in pedagogy, tourism , psychology, etc. are also excited to attend the program.

According to experts, when using AI tools, students need to set goals to use them to support their learning, not completely replace the learning process.

Students must actively learn and explore , not passively waiting for AI to give answers, but ask questions and search for information themselves; check the information provided by AI with many different sources; develop critical thinking, use AI as a tool to support the thinking process, not to replace the thinking process.

In the program, students focused on discussing career groups such as photography, cinema, restaurant services, software programming, journalism, etc.

Hong Mai, a student at the University of Finance and Marketing in Ho Chi Minh City, said she uses many AI tools to support her studies. AI is both informative and helps Mai save a lot of time.

"Technology develops very quickly, if we do not update it will quickly become outdated. Participating in the program is also a way for me to learn new "tricks" to help use AI better" - Mai said.

Admitting that he is passionate about technology and computers, Dang Hoi said that he spends about 30 minutes every day learning about this field. Although he is only a 7th grader, when his father shared information about the program, Hoi was excited to register to participate.

"I understood about 70% of the information shared at the program. There were some terms I heard for the first time. After today, I will learn and experience more new AI tools" - Hoi said.
