Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh visited and worked at Nghi Son Economic Zone

On the morning of November 15, comrade Nguyen Doan Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, as head of the delegation, visited and worked with the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks (KKTNS&CKCN) of Thanh Hoa province on the situation and results of the Board's activities; the results of implementing the Program for developing the KKTNS&CKCN according to the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and key tasks in the coming time.

Before working at the Management Board of the Industrial Parks and Industrial Parks, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Doan Anh and the delegation visited and inspected the production activities of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, Nghi Son Steel Mill No. 1, and Nghi Son International General Port. At the places visited and inspected, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Doan Anh congratulated the results that the units and enterprises have achieved. At the same time, he requested that the units pay attention to technological innovation, reduce production costs, and expand the market to affirm their domestic and international brands.

Accordingly, from the beginning of the 2020-2025 term up to now, the Party Committee, the collective leadership, cadres, party members, civil servants, and employees of the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks have been highly determined, made great efforts, and joined hands to successfully complete the assigned political tasks and have achieved positive results, notably: In the Economic Zone, 45/55 zoning plans have been completed; the most important of which are the industrial zones that have completed 22/23 plans; only 1 zone has not yet had a plan due to local adjustments to attract LNG power projects (Industrial Park No. 6A).

In the industrial zones outside the NSKTZ, 4/9 zoning plans have been completed, including: Industrial Zone West of Thanh Hoa City; Giang Quang Thinh Industrial Zone, Thieu Hoa District; Phu Quy Industrial Zone, Hoang Hoa District; Tuong Linh Industrial Zone, Nong Cong District. The remaining 5 zoning plans are being developed, including: Luu Binh Industrial Zone, Quang Xuong District; Ha Long Industrial Zone, Ha Trung District; Bac Hoang Hoa Industrial Zone, Hoang Hoa District; Da Loc Industrial Zone, Hau Loc District and Nga Tan Industrial Zone, Nga Son District.

From 2021 to now, the NS&CKCN Economic Zone has attracted more than 100 domestic and foreign direct investment projects, with a total registered investment capital of about 18,280 billion VND and 248 million USD; including a number of large-scale projects, such as: DST Nghi Son Steel Rolling Mill (5,500 billion VND), Dong Vang Industrial Park Infrastructure (2,400 billion VND), Dai Duong High-Tech Reinforced Concrete Components Factory (1,099 billion VND), Billion Union Vietnam Fabric Factory (70 million USD)... Completed and put into operation, such as: Nghi Son Steel Rolling Mill, Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant, Dai Duong Cement Factory... Up to now, NS&CKCN Economic Zone has attracted 730 investment projects with a total registered capital of about 181,307 billion VND and 13,691 million USD; creating jobs for about 100,000 workers; annual production value reaches over 250,000 billion VND; annual budget revenue at the Economic Zone and Industrial Park is estimated at about 30,000 billion VND, contributing 50-60% of the province's total budget revenue.

The above results have significantly contributed to the overall development of the province, creating a driving force to spread and connect the Economic Zone and Industrial Park with regions, economic centers of the province and localities, gradually realizing the goal of making Thanh Hoa a new growth pole in the North of the country.

Concluding the working session, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh emphasized: NSK is one of the 8 coastal industrial zones in the country, 1 of the 4 dynamic economic centers of Thanh Hoa province, playing a particularly important role in the development of the whole country, the North Central region and Thanh Hoa province. Up to now, NSK has had strong development steps, truly becoming the locomotive leading the province's economic development, with very impressive results in attracting investment, production value, paying the state budget and creating jobs for workers.

The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed: To achieve that result, in addition to the attention and support of the Central Government, the great efforts of Thanh Hoa province, Nghi Son town and the Management Board, there are important contributions from the people in the Economic Zone, who have agreed to support and create favorable conditions for the development of the Economic Zone over the past years, especially in the work of site clearance to serve the implementation of investment projects. The Provincial Party Secretary also highly appreciated the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks for performing well the assigned functions and tasks, especially in state management, investment attraction, administrative reform, planning and investment in infrastructure development of the economic zone, meeting the development requirements.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh requested the Party Committee and the collective leadership of the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks to continue to uphold the sense of responsibility, perform well the tasks under their responsibilities, proactively advise the province on practical and effective solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, and successfully complete the assigned tasks. The Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks needs to innovate methods, improve capacity and effectiveness of state management; strengthen administrative discipline and order; strengthen inspection and supervision of compliance with legal regulations in the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks; promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle violations. Accompany businesses to remove difficulties and obstacles, creating development for businesses. In particular, it is necessary to closely monitor, increase dialogue, listen and thoroughly resolve reasonable proposals and recommendations of businesses. Enhance the leadership responsibility of Party committees, promote the role of mass organizations, especially trade unions, in performing assigned tasks.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested the functional departments, branches, Party committees and authorities of Nghi Son town to strengthen coordination with the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Park in implementing the Development Program of the Economic Zone and Industrial Park. Pay attention to workers and trade unions in the Economic Zone and Industrial Park, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers. Focus on implementing vocational training programs for local workers.

Regarding proposals and recommendations, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee shall lead the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve them according to its authority; issues beyond its authority shall be reported according to regulations.

Promoting the achievements and results gained in the past time, the Provincial Party Secretary believes that the Party Committee, the collective leadership, cadres, civil servants and employees of the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Park will unite, join hands and make efforts to overcome difficulties and successfully complete the set goals and tasks.
