Secretary of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee: Do not be subjective, absolutely ensure the safety of people's lives

Faced with complicated weather developments, under pouring rain, Secretary of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee Hau A Lenh was present in Minh Xuan and Nong Tien wards to inspect the flood situation and direct response work.

Amidst the surging waters, the image of the head of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee going deep into dangerous areas, listening to each report from the base and emphasizing: "Do not be subjective, absolutely ensure the safety of people's lives", left a strong impression of the sense of responsibility, close attention and determination of the highest leader of the province.

Secretary of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee Hau A Lenh requested local leaders to mobilize maximum forces, be on duty 24/24 hours to be ready to protect important works; at the same time, encourage people not to gather and sell goods along the river when the water level rises. Secretary Hau A Lenh also especially emphasized the priority of evacuating the elderly and children, supporting people to move their assets, and developing specific plans so that when the water recedes, the consequences can be quickly overcome, ensuring environmental sanitation and stabilizing life.

On the morning of October 1, the Standing Committee of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee held an online meeting with communes and wards to assess the damage and deploy measures to respond to the circulation of storm No. 10. Standing Vice Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Manh Tuan requested the entire political system to get involved, considering the provision of timely and accurate information as the key to effective management. At the same time, he directed the electricity, transportation, health and education sectors to urgently overcome the consequences, ensuring absolute safety for students, teachers and people.

In Chiem Hoa commune, rising floodwaters isolated 1,791 households in 31 villages, forcing hundreds of households to evacuate urgently. Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee Phan Huy Ngoc and a working delegation went to Chiem Hoa commune to directly inspect the flood situation and grasp the difficulties of the people. Facing the scene of many households submerged in water, with rice fields, crops, and aquatic products severely damaged, the Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee requested the commune authorities to consider ensuring life safety as the number one priority; urgently provide food and clean water relief, and absolutely not let people go hungry or lack drinking water. Local Party committees and authorities need to promptly review and support to overcome and stabilize production.

According to the Civil Defense Command of Tuyen Quang province, as of noon on October 1, the whole province had 4 people missing, hundreds of houses were affected; many of which collapsed completely. Hundreds of households were forced to evacuate urgently. Dozens of infrastructure works were damaged, hundreds of hectares of rice, corn, and crops were flooded. Many irrigation works were buried and damaged; dozens of electric poles were broken; 2 commune People's Committee headquarters and some village cultural houses had their roofs blown off. Key traffic routes were eroded and blocked, many remote communes such as: Chiem Hoa, Nam Dich, Bac Me, Mau Due, Hoang Su Phi... were isolated, traffic was cut off, people's lives faced many difficulties.

In the context of severe natural disasters, the presence and timely direction of Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh and the provincial leaders have affirmed the determination of the entire political system: not to leave any people behind. The spirit of "4 on-the-spot" has been deployed synchronously, along with the initiative and efforts of the police, army, militia and people, becoming a fulcrum to help Tuyen Quang minimize damage, quickly overcome difficulties, unite, steadfastly fight, and soon stabilize life and production after the flood.
