3 Vietnamese players entered the round of 64 of the 9-ball world billiards championship

On the afternoon of July 23, the winning players will compete in the winner's bracket of the World Pool Championship 2025, which is taking place in Jeddah - Saudi Arabia. The representatives of Vietnamese billiards pool include: Duong Quoc Hoang (Hoang Sao), Nguyen Anh Tuan (also known as Tkon) and Luong Duc Thien.

Hoang Sao met Daniel Maciol (Poland, world 46th). Against the young champion of Poland, the Vietnamese player really "flew high", continuously making classy moves. In the 5th game (when leading his opponent 4-0), Hoang Sao had a great shot, jumping from the beginning to the end of the table to get the 1st ball. Next, Hoang Sao balanced the 3rd ball to neatly pocket the 9th ball, raising the score to 5-0. In this match, the player born in 1987 also had many other 9-winning shots to end the game.

In the end, Duong Quoc Hoang won 9-1 against Daniel Maciol. Thereby, the top player of Vietnam won a ticket to the knockout round (64 players) of the World Pool Championship 2025.

Besides Hoang Sao, two other Vietnamese players who won in the opening match, Luong Duc Thien and Nguyen Anh Tuan (Tkon), also had their second consecutive victory.

Luong Duc Thien made a spectacular comeback to defeat Denis Grabe (Estonia, world No. 63) with a final score of 9-8. Overwhelmed by Denis Grabe in the first games and creating a gap of 7-2, it seemed that Duc Thien had to accept defeat against his opponent. However, the Vietnamese player showed great determination. Thien pulled back each point and won 6 consecutive games to take the lead 8-7. After that, Duc Thien could not continue to maintain his confidence and accuracy, and let his opponent equalize the score 8-8. However, luck was on Duc Thien's side. His opponent, facing an easy ball, missed the opportunity and lost. The Vietnamese player took advantage to win.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Anh Tuan continued to show his excellent performance when facing Australian player - Henry Nguyen. Tkon defeated his opponent with a score of 9-2. Up to now, Vietnamese billiards has 3 players participating in the round of 64 of the World Pool Championship 2025: Hoang Sao, Nguyen Anh Tuan and Luong Duc Thien.
