On September 8, Tan Cang Saigon Corporation said that the rescue force of Corps 20 - Tan Cang Saigon Corporation rescued a resident and two employees of Cat Lai ferry who fell into the river during a thunderstorm, ensuring absolute safety.
Previously, at around 12:30 on September 7, Mr. HQH (born in 1982, residing in Cat Lai ward, Ho Chi Minh City) was waiting for the ferry to Dai Phuoc commune ( Dong Nai ) when he suddenly encountered heavy rain and whirlwind and fell into the river. Immediately, two Cat Lai ferry staff jumped in to rescue him. However, due to the strong current and harsh weather, all three people were swept downstream, endangering their lives.
Discovering the incident from the B1 wharf guard post, the wharf working team - General Staff Department, Army Corps 20 quickly deployed rescue forces. After more than 20 minutes of effort in stormy conditions and limited visibility, at 12:55, the force safely rescued all three people and organized first aid on the spot.
The two Cat Lai ferry employees are in stable health and have returned to work as usual. Mr. HQH was transferred to Le Van Thinh Hospital for treatment. His health is now gradually recovering.

Emotionally sharing after the incident, Mr. H. said: “ If it weren’t for the soldiers of the 20th Corps and the Cat Lai ferry staff, I don’t know where I would have drifted. Thank you for saving my life.”

Along with the 24/7 production mission at Tan Cang Cat Lai port, the 20th Corps' on-duty force always maintains strict on-duty regime, closely coordinating with related units to ensure security and safety for people, vehicles and production activities in all weather conditions, especially storms and strong winds.
