Upon receiving the news, the tunnel management force immediately deployed a plan to handle, chase and control the cow when it ran to the middle of the tunnel.

According to the Saigon River Tunnel Management Center, authorities had previously discovered a herd of about ten unattended cows near the tunnel entrance. While being herded elsewhere, one cow panicked and rushed straight into the tunnel. After being restrained, the cow was returned to its owner.

According to the center's representative, the area near the entrance to the Saigon River Tunnel has many vacant lots where people often bring cows to graze but do not closely supervise, potentially causing accidents. The unit has made a record and transferred it to the local authorities for handling to avoid recurrence.
