Ministry of Industry and Trade promotes supply chain connectivity for textile, garment and footwear enterprises

In the context of deep international integration, textile and footwear enterprises need to improve quality and expand cooperation opportunities to increase supply chain value.


On the afternoon of December 4, in Ho Chi Minh City, the "Workshop connecting textile and footwear enterprises" took place, organized by the Southern Industrial Development Technical Support Center (IDCS) - Department of Industry ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) in coordination with relevant units.

The workshop is part of a consulting and support program for industrial enterprises in the textile, garment and footwear sectors to participate in domestic and international production supply chains by 2024.

Sharing at the event, Mr. Le Xuan Tho - Acting Director of the Southern Region Industrial Development Support Technical Center, Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - emphasized: The textile and footwear industries are two important economic sectors, not only contributing greatly to the national export turnover but also creating millions of jobs for workers, contributing to the stability and development of the socio-economy.

However, in the context of deep international integration and increasing market demands, businesses in the industry need to seek solutions to improve quality, increase supply chain value and expand cooperation opportunities.

“The workshop aims to create a strong driving force for the sustainable development of the textile and footwear industry, as well as raise awareness of dual transformation - combining digital transformation and green transformation. At the same time, it is an important bridge to help domestic and international enterprises establish sustainable cooperative relationships, optimize supply chains and increase product value,” said Mr. Le Xuan Tho.

Experts and speakers exchanged and discussed dual transformation and connection of textile, garment and footwear supply chains at the workshop.

Experts from the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology also shared and provided information on new technologies in the textile industry. At the same time, they shared information, the latest trends and introduced and promoted products of enterprises in the textile, footwear and leather sectors.

Representatives of IDCS, Ho Chi Minh City Textile, Embroidery and Knitting Association, experts and speakers shared and answered each business.

Within the framework of the workshop, there were also activities of connection, cooperation, and B2B trade between leading enterprises and suppliers; signing of memoranda of understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation between enterprises, enhancing competitiveness in domestic and international markets.
