Colonel Hoang Van Man, Political Commissar of the Da Nang City Border Guard Command, said that at noon on September 29, border guard officers and soldiers promptly brought three patients from Tan Hiep island commune to the mainland for emergency treatment.
Specifically, at 12:15 p.m. on September 29, the Cu Lao Cham Border Guard Station, Tan Hiep Island Commune, Da Nang City received an urgent report and request for help from islanders to take 3 patients to the emergency room while the Hoi An-Cu Lao Cham inland waterway was not yet allowed to resume operations due to the impact of storm No. 10.
Immediately, officers and soldiers of Cu Lao Cham Border Guard Station reported to the Da Nang City Border Guard Command and coordinated with the Border Guard Squadron 2, stationed on Son Tra Island, to mobilize vehicles and military doctors to approach the patients.
The three patients include Nguyen Thi Quy (born in 1944, residing in Bai Lang village, Tan Hiep commune) who suffered from a stroke; Nguyen Van Thu (born in 1970, residing in Bai Ong village, Tan Hiep commune) who was diagnosed with gastrointestinal bleeding; and Ngo Tan My (born in 1968, residing in Bai Huong village, Tan Hiep commune).
Border Guard forces and military doctors used a speedboat to take 3 patients and 5 family members to Da Nang city for emergency treatment.
At 1:15 p.m. on September 29, the rescue team brought the patient to the mainland and handed him over to the doctors of the 115 Medical Center for emergency treatment at Da Nang General Hospital./.
