Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team lost to Chile U21 at the World Cup

On the evening of August 15, the Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team suffered a defeat after 4 sets against their opponent Chile in the match for rankings from 17 to 20.

In the first 2 sets, U21 Chile showed superiority and dominance. They created many unpredictable and unpredictable combinations. Meanwhile, the U21 Vietnam women's volleyball team made many mistakes, from the first step to the second pass.

Therefore, coach Nguyen Trong Linh's team was almost helpless. The scenario in these sets was almost similar, when they were both quickly left behind by their opponents. U21 Chile won quite quickly 25-17, 25-15.

But at this moment, the Vietnamese girls' resilient fighting spirit was shown. They played passionately and effectively in set 3, a complete contrast to before.

Coach Nguyen Trong Linh's tactical change also made an impression. Striker Pham Quynh Huong, who had previously been tasked with the first step, now had more attacking duties.

She had 10 points in set 3, with 7 attack points and 3 block points. Thanks to that, U21 Vietnam won 25-17.

Despite their considerable physical exhaustion, the Southeast Asian representatives still fought strongly in set 4. They tried to keep up with the game, not letting themselves be left too far behind. But U21 Chile were still in a better class, getting points at crucial moments.

The 25-20 result gave them a 3-1 win, thereby entering the 17-18 place match.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team will still have one match to qualify for the 19th-20th place against the Dominican Republic. This match will take place on August 16, and will also be the last match of coach Nguyen Trong Linh and his team at the 2025 U21 Women's Volleyball World Cup.
