Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh informed about the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi.
On the afternoon of September 26 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hold a press conference to provide information about the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi.
Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said: "The first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is an important initiative to honor and promote the pivotal role of culture in sustainable development; to be a bridge connecting nations and peoples to overcome all difficulties and challenges of the times such as conflicts, epidemics, climate change...; to join hands to bring the international community to peace and prosperity."
Held for the first time in Vietnam, the idea of the festival is to affirm that Vietnam can be a place where cultures from all over the world converge. Cultural values blend together without losing the identity of each country, while contributing to promoting the spirit of solidarity, together contributing to global development.
"This is also Vietnam's wish when organizing the event and is also the message that Hanoi - City for Peace, member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, sends," Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh emphasized.
With that meaning, the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi quickly spread and received the response of embassies, international organizations, and foreign cultural centers in Vietnam.
With the motto "Culture is the foundation - art is the means", the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi, after being held for the first time in 2025, will aim to become an annual international cultural event in Hanoi.
As of September 25, 48 embassies, international organizations, and foreign cultural centers in Vietnam have registered to participate in the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi.
There will be 45 national cultural spaces, 33 food stalls, 16 domestic and foreign art troupes, 12 units participating in book introductions, 20 countries sending films to participate in the film screening program...
What promises to be very attractive is that at this event, in the space of the world heritage site of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, cultures from 5 continents around the world will converge, introducing the cultural quintessence of their countries and peoples.
The Organizing Committee also announced that Laos is the guest of honor at this year's Festival. Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hoa (Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) informed that Laos will send an art troupe to the Festival to perform unique art performances imbued with cultural identity. In subsequent editions, each year the Festival will have a country as the guest of honor.
The festival is held from October 10-12 at the Central Relic Site of Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan said that for the Festival website, the Organizing Committee will update full information about the schedule and activities within the framework of the event. Along with that, the Organizing Committee will digitize the Festival space so that visitors who have not had the opportunity to come to the event can also experience this attractive cultural space.
