Hanoi currently has 6 social housing projects that are expected to open for sale, collect applications, and prepare for lottery this year, with expected selling prices only 1/3 of the price of commercial housing on the market. In recent months, many people who want to buy a house have been eagerly waiting for these projects.
However, as of October 1, only one project, Thuong Thanh Social Housing Area in Bo De Ward, has officially accepted applications for purchasing and leasing social housing in the first phase of the project. Notably, to avoid crowding, the application process is conducted online.
According to information from the Hanoi Department of Construction, the average selling price of social housing is announced to be more than 29.4 million VND/m2 (including VAT but not including maintenance costs), equivalent to 940 million VND to 2 billion VND per unit.
This price has set a new record for the social housing segment in Hanoi, which is usually priced under VND25 million/m2.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Construction and the investor have continuously warned people not to believe in new offers from brokers and touts promising purchase quotas, which can cause risks of losing money.
