Singer Tien Dung was born in 1984, is one of two members of the famous music group The Men in the early 2010s.
After the 2016 milestone, The Men's musical activities gradually limited and then stagnated. Both members pursued their passions and new directions in their careers.
In 2020, Tien Dung went to the US to celebrate Tet with his wife and children, when the Covid-19 pandemic suddenly broke out. Due to circumstances, he had to choose to settle in a foreign country and try to adapt to a new life.
Earn more than 20,000 USD per month
"At first, I was very confused. You could say it was a turning point in my life. I told myself 'wherever my child is, I will be there' and then got used to life here," Tien Dung told VietNamNet reporter.
In the US, Tien Dung and his wife and children live in the coastal town of Malibu, California. In January, California was hit by a catastrophic wildfire that lasted 24 days, and Tien Dung’s family still remembers the terrifying memories of that day.
When the police announced the evacuation, he and his family quickly packed up some important belongings and left, expecting to lose their home.
"However, fortunately, the fire only reached the door and was extinguished. About a day later, we were allowed to return and were happy to see the house almost intact," he recalled.

In recent years, Tien Dung's main income comes from rental services. He has 3 rental houses in the US and 1 in Vietnam.
The singer hired an intermediary company to manage the rental business, earning more than 20,000 USD (524 million VND) per month.
Meanwhile, the rent in Vietnam is not worth much. "My tenants in Vietnam are facing financial difficulties so they have to pay in installments. After the Covid-19 pandemic, I realized that life is not easy so I created conditions for tenants, I did not want to make things difficult," he explained.
Among the houses, Tien Dung and his wife and children especially like the house in the Big Bear area, in the San Bernardino Mountains, California - famous for its snow in winter.
"Although the weather in California is quite hot compared to other states, the Big Bear area still has snow. In particular, the snow here is cold but not freezing, you can play comfortably, very pleasant," the singer shared.

Spend all your time with your children
The reporter asked: "If you only rent out houses and collect money at the end of each month, your life must be too idle?", Tien Dung denied.
First of all, according to him, his current career did not come about suddenly but was the result of a whole youth of hard work. When he and Le Hoang founded The Men group, the two of them determined the goal of singing to earn money.
At their peak, The Men group had a busy schedule, performing almost all month long, with some days performing in 3 different cities.
"With the number of hits The Men had at that time, we could have completely increased our salary to 100-120 million VND/show. However, we only took the previous 60 million VND, making up for it with the number of shows. Thanks to that, the two brothers were respected by show organizers and were always in demand for many shows for many years," Tien Dung recalled.
He used the salary he earned to practice real estate business, accumulate assets and experience. In America, 8X spent 1 year researching the real estate market and doing fieldwork.
Recently, Tien Dung only rents out houses and no longer does real estate business.
The singer explained: "In recent years, the US economy has been down. If you sell a house for a little profit, then buy another one at the same price, there won't be much left. So I don't buy and sell anymore, I only sell when the price is good or there's an emergency, otherwise I just leave it there."
Now, in a period when he doesn’t have to worry about work and finances, Tien Dung devotes all his time to his family. His days revolve around taking his children to school, taking care of them and playing with them, and sharing housework with his wife.
"People may think it's idleness, but for me it's happiness. I'm planning to set up a company in Vietnam. I'll probably be very busy in the near future, so right now I just want to focus on my family," he said.
