With a population of nearly 100 million, the demand for foreign travel of Vietnamese people is growing strongly. According to statistics from the Tourism Bureau ( Ministry of Transport of Taiwan - China), Vietnam has become the 10th largest international tourist market of Taiwan, affirming the growing potential for cooperation.
Catching this trend, the “Smart Travel” Alliance – supported by the Small and Medium Enterprises Bureau under the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan (China), with KKday as the leading enterprise – has gathered many typical tourism units from North, Central and South Taiwan. The Alliance introduces unique products such as “Seven-Day Tour around Taiwan” and “Service Package exclusively for Vietnamese tourists”, aiming to bring a complete, convenient and culturally rich experience.
Within the framework of cooperation, KKday and a delegation of Taiwanese (Chinese) businesses recently had a working trip to Hanoi, met with local partners, exchanged experiences and sought opportunities to expand smart tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Event Highlights
This event was hosted by KKday, mobilizing resources from the fields of transportation, attractions, experiences, accommodation and cuisine, forming a complete tourism supply chain. At the same time, Taiwanese (Chinese) enterprises worked directly with Vietnamese partners, creating conditions for potential cooperation agreements in the near future.
“Smart Tourism” model
The alliance brings together a range of digital technologies, including AI-powered itinerary recommendations, e-tickets, cross-border payments, automated marketing and multilingual customer service, to enable international travelers to easily access information via social media, local media and search engines, from itineraries to booking and online payments.
Mr. Liu Shizhong, representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, shared: “Smart, safe and happy tourism” is the goal we are aiming for. We hope to promote exchanges and cooperation between Taiwanese (Chinese) and Vietnamese tourism businesses, and jointly develop Taiwanese (Chinese) tourism products suitable for the Vietnamese market. Through this, we hope to strengthen close ties and sustainably develop the tourism industry.”
Diverse distribution channels
With the support of KKday, Taiwanese (Chinese) businesses are connected with travel companies and agents in Vietnam, expanding distribution channels from B2C to B2B and B2B2C, increasing access to international customers.
Cooperation results
At the event in Hanoi, Vietnamese tourism businesses shared practical perspectives on the domestic market and discussed cooperation plans to enrich bilateral tourism products.
SeA Travel – a professional tour operator – has signed a memorandum of understanding with KKday. In the future, the two sides will jointly develop many new tourism products in Taiwan (China), bringing more attractive options to Vietnamese tourists.
Mustgo – a Vietnamese travel company that owns a B2B hotel room distribution platform – has also officially partnered with KKday. This agreement is expected to help attract more Taiwanese (Chinese) and Vietnamese tourists, expanding bilateral cooperation opportunities.
Ms. Nguyen Thao Anh, CEO of KKday Vietnam, shared: “The Vietnamese tourism market has great potential. Taiwan (China) with its unique culture, rich cuisine and diverse experiences will continue to be an attractive destination for tourists. Through the Smart Travel Alliance, we hope to connect more closely between Taiwanese (China) suppliers and Vietnamese partners, bringing more innovative and comprehensive cross-border services to customers.”
Future prospects
This exchange not only marks a new step forward in the tourism cooperation between Taiwan (China) and Vietnam, but also opens up opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to expand internationally. With the diversification of products on the KKday platform, Vietnamese tourists will have more choices when traveling to Taiwan (China).
It is expected that this cooperation will contribute to increasing the number of Vietnamese tourists to Taiwan (China), while promoting sustainable, long-term development of both sides in the international tourism market.
