Hanoi divides schools into 30 professional clusters.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just issued a decision on the establishment of 30 professional clusters for preschool, primary and secondary school levels in the city for the 2025-2026 school year.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that these professional clusters will be responsible for implementing educational tasks during the school year as assigned by the Department and superior state agencies to schools in the cluster.

According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, as of August 15, in preparation for the new school year 2025-2026, Hanoi has built 43 new kindergartens and primary schools of all levels; of which, the public sector increased by 27 schools (including 10 kindergartens, 9 primary schools, 5 secondary schools and 3 high schools); the private sector increased by 16 schools (including 7 kindergartens, 4 primary schools and 5 secondary schools).

Thus, entering the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi will have 2,954 kindergartens and primary schools of all levels with about 70,500 classes, meeting the needs of more than 2.3 million students (an increase of about 60,000 students compared to the 2024-2025 school year). Of which, the public sector is 2,337 schools, the rest are private.
