Singer Uyen Linh: I live a frugal life, I always borrow clothes.

Talking about the name Uyen Linh – The Vocalist , she shared: “The suffix “-ist” is often attached to each word, forming a noun indicating a profession. “Vocalist” is simply ‘someone who makes a living by singing’ like me, that’s all.”

The live show will take place at Hoa Binh Theater, Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of November 9. Through the program, she wants to recreate her musical journey of the past 15 years.

The two guests are singers Ha Anh Tuan and Quoc Thien. Besides familiar songs, Uyen Linh will sing many new songs. She and the guests are discussing new and attractive duets to “treat” the audience.

The program is directed by Quan Nguyen as music director, and Nguyen Quang Dung as stage director. In addition to music and emotions, Uyen Linh also performs choreography. “I will dance so that the audience knows how bad I am, so they can focus more on certain parts,” the singer said jokingly.

Before the biggest project of her career, she is not too pressured but full of inspiration and creative energy, believing that this is the best time in every aspect to perform a personal live show.

When asked about the cost of the live show, Uyen Linh said: “I have prepared for a year. If this show loses within the allowable limit, I accept it because from the beginning I determined to do a big show to show gratitude to the audience. If it makes a profit, I will be very happy! I don’t spend much, I borrow all the things I have from close friends or ask Quoc Thien to buy for me. After deducting all expenses, insurance… there is always a portion of the income kept for reinvestment in work. Therefore, up to now I have not had to sell any assets.”

She said she always wanted to make her name in the history of Vietnamese music from 2010 to 2030. To do this, the singer has never stopped studying and practicing her singing ability.

Uyen Linh added that she changed a lot after the Covid-19 pandemic. She did not dare to call herself “feminine” or “womanly”, but her personality became gentler and she knew how to ignore unnecessary worries.

Uyen Linh was born in 1987, is a student of the Diplomatic Academy. From an amateur singer, she rose to fame when she became the Champion of the Vietnam Idol 2010 contest. The singer's musical products, especially the album Portrait (2017), are highly appreciated by experts.

She is also loved for participating in programs such as Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring Again (2021), Mask Singer (2022) and Pretty Sister Who Makes Waves (2023).
