First launched in March 2025, the BYD Seal 6 2025 (Qin L EV) is one of the most popular electric car models in the Chinese market. Therefore, it is not surprising that this model has quickly been sold in international markets, first in Malaysia.

In the Malaysian market, BYD Seal 6 has 2 versions: Dynamic and Premium. Developed on the e-platform 3.0 chassis platform, BYD Seal 6 has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,720 x 1,860 x 1,495 mm, wheelbase of 2,820 mm and ground clearance of 165 mm.

Although it has a wheelbase equal to the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, this model is positioned in the C-class sedan segment and is the largest in the segment in the Malaysian market, surpassing the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis and Mazda3. The BYD Seal 6 originally belongs to the Dynasty product line instead of the Ocean. Therefore, the car has a design style closer to the BYD Atto 2 and Atto 3 than the Seal.

The premium version of the BYD Seal is distinguished from the standard Dynamic version by its front LED strip, a panoramic sunroof that can be opened/closed, and 18-inch wheels. The car has 3 exterior colors: Arctic White, Harbor Grey, and Misty Blue.

Thanks to its large wheelbase, the BYD Seal 6 is equipped with a spacious interior. Stepping inside this model, Malaysian customers will encounter a minimalist interior design with black and gray tones.

In Malaysia, the car has notable features such as a 3-spoke steering wheel, an 8.8-inch digital dashboard, a 12.8-inch horizontal infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and eco-leather seats, front seats that hug the occupants and rear seats with more comfortable reclining backrests.

The Dynamic version has a 6-way power driver's seat, a manual passenger seat, and a 6-speaker audio system. Meanwhile, the Premium version is better equipped with an 8-way power driver's seat, a 4-way power passenger seat, cooled front seats, an 8-speaker audio system, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient interior lighting.

The car's luggage compartment has a capacity of 460 liters, plus a 65-liter front trunk. The car's safety equipment is quite diverse with 6 airbags, front sensors, 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring, automatic emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and smart headlights.

Regardless of the version, the car uses an electric motor located on the rear axle and a 56.64 kWh Blade LFP battery. The electric motor produces a maximum capacity of 129 horsepower and a maximum torque of 220 Nm in the Dynamic version, allowing acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 10.9 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

The corresponding figures for the Premium are 218 hp and 330 Nm. The Premium can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h. The BYD Seal 6 has a range of 485 km according to the NEDC standard. With a 100 kW DC fast slow charger, the car can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in 23 minutes. The AC Type 2 slow charger has a maximum capacity of 6.67 kW. The car also has the ability to power off-vehicle devices with a charging capacity of 3.7 kW.

The price of BYD Seal Dynamic and Premium cars sold in the Malaysian market ranges from 100,000 - 115,800 RM (about 630 - 753 million VND). Compared to Seal, which costs from 171,800 - 191,800 RM in Malaysia, BYD Seal 6 is significantly cheaper.

Currently, BYD has not announced plans to sell the Seal 6 in other markets after Malaysia. However, it will not be surprising if this pure electric sedan is also sold in Vietnam in the future. In the near future, BYD will introduce the Seal 5 electric sedan to Vietnamese customers.
