The length of this coastal erosion is up to 225m with an average depth of 5-7m, threatening state and local property. The temporary embankment was severely damaged by high waves and strong winds, causing a large amount of sand to be washed away.

Recently, Quang Nam province had to declare an emergency situation regarding landslides in this area. According to local authorities, in 2024, although there were no major floods, natural disasters still seriously affected the Hoi An coast. Northeast monsoons and high tides created large waves, causing serious landslides in the coastal area of ​​Cam An ward, Hoi An city.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province assigned Hoi An city to take urgent measures to respond and overcome the consequences in order to prevent and minimize damage caused by natural disasters.

Local authorities have organized the installation of signs, ropes to warn, delimit dangerous areas, proactively developed plans to deploy guards, and prevented people and tourists from entering dangerous areas; increased information dissemination so that people and tourists know about landslide developments, causes of landslides, and proactively take measures to prevent and respond.

Quang Nam province requested the functional agencies of Hoi An city to proactively prepare plans to promptly evacuate residents and tourists when a situation occurs.
