Beware of online services that support one-time withdrawal of social insurance

Due to her busy work schedule and lack of time to research and learn about the one-time social insurance withdrawal procedures, Ms. HTN went to fanpages that offered one-time social insurance withdrawal support services. She thought she would find someone to help her, but she ended up falling into a scammer's trap.

“They said they would support the disbursement within two days, with the condition that I had to pay 2 million VND in advance for the service fee. After paying them, I did not receive any subsidy,” said Ms. HTN.

Mr. Tran Dung Ha (Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance) said: “All social insurance agencies, when handling all procedures for employees, do not collect any fees. We publicly disclose all issues related to books and one-time social insurance benefits on the social insurance agency's information pages, as well as social insurance's social networking pages. Employees in need only need to check the information on the official pages to see the procedures and records and follow the agency's regulations. In case there are problems with the records that need to be supplemented, the officers of the agency receiving the books will call directly to guide the procedures.”

Currently, the social insurance agency handles social insurance withdrawal applications through two forms: One is that employees submit applications directly to the social insurance agency or through the postal system. The other is to submit on the national public service portal.

According to the Vietnam Social Security Agency, in the past, taking advantage of the urgent need of employees to receive one-time social insurance payments early to cover immediate difficulties, and on the other hand, the current regulations on one-time social insurance payment procedures are very simple, so some subjects have organized to collect social insurance books of employees through the form of mortgage and authorization (employees who own social insurance books authorize others to carry out procedures for one-time social insurance payments).

This is the act of buying and selling social insurance books, not only causing great disadvantages for employees when they only receive 1/3 to 1/2 of the real value of the social insurance book, but in the long run also creates pressure on the social security system.
