Coast Guard accompanies fishermen

The Command of Coast Guard Region 3 has just coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, District Party Committee, and People's Committee of Xuyen Moc district ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) to organize the Mass Mobilization program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen in 2024".

At the program, the reporter of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command informed a large number of officers, civil servants, fishing boat owners, fishermen, and people in Xuyen Moc district about the situation of sea and island security and propagated the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, the Law on Fisheries; and propagated legal regulations on preventing and combating illegal fishing (IUU).

Colonel Cao Xuan Quan, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 3 Command and Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh , Deputy Head of the Mass Mobilization Commission of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee presented gifts to policy families and fishermen in difficult circumstances in Xuyen Moc district.

Also in the program, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command coordinated with Hung Vuong Hospital to examine and provide free medicine to fishermen and families with meritorious services; visited and presented 150 gifts to families with meritorious services and fishermen in difficult circumstances (VND 1 million/gift); presented 20 national flags, medical cabinets and gifts to fishing boats and seafood purchasing warehouses.

Implementing the Mass Mobilization Program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen", from 2021 to present, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 has coordinated with local Party committees and authorities in the management area to organize more than 40 sessions of law dissemination and propaganda about seas and islands for more than 14,000 officials, civil servants, students, fishermen and people in the area; organized 13 contests to learn about "I love my homeland's sea and islands" for more than 50,000 students of secondary schools; presented more than 4,000 gifts to people, presented more than 130 bicycles, more than 500 scholarships to students; presented 4,800 national flags, 50 medicine bags, medicine cabinets to fishermen...
