On September 10, Quang Ninh Regional General Hospital said that patient LTTH (35 years old, residing in Ninh Chau commune, Quang Tri province) was admitted to the hospital with severe pain in the lower abdomen and difficulty in defecation. Through ultrasound and CT scan, doctors discovered an abnormally large tumor, bleeding and signs of torsion.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Hien, Deputy Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, said: “The tumor is approximately the size of a grapefruit, firmly attached to the uterus and sigmoid colon, increasing the complexity of treatment. If not operated on early, the patient may have ovarian necrosis, abdominal infection, and even life-threatening.”

The surgery lasted nearly 2 hours. The team separated and removed the tumor, preserving the reproductive organs and preventing complications. The patient's health is currently stable and will continue to be monitored for recovery.
