How far is the construction of the 1,600 billion VND bridge connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai?

TPO - Nhon Trach Bridge, part of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, spanning the Dong Nai River connecting Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City) and Nhon Trach District (Dong Nai), is gradually taking shape.

Nhon Trach Bridge located on Ring Road 3 will start construction in September 2022 with a total capital of more than 1,600 billion VND.

The bridge is more than 2km long, 19.75m wide and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are 560m long.

Nhon Trach Bridge is the largest bridge on Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, part of the 1A component project, Tan Van - Nhon Trach section (phase 1) of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. The project is 8.75km long with a total investment of more than 6,955 billion VND.

Nhon Trach Bridge is constructed by Kumho E&C (Korea). The project started on September 24, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed in August 2025.

However, the contractor is now planning to shorten the time to complete by April 30, 2025.

A main span of Nhon Trach Bridge is under construction on the Dong Nai River.

In order to complete the Nhon Trach bridge project ahead of schedule, recently, the My Thuan Project Management Board (investor) has also had many solutions, urging contractors to mobilize workers and machinery to speed up progress.

In which, mobilize workers, engineers, machines divided into dozens of construction teams with 3 shifts, 4 teams. Workers divided into shifts, working day and night, during Tet and holidays. Thanks to that, the workload increased rapidly.

Up to now, the construction progress of Nhon Trach bridge has reached 77.55%.

The contractor has installed 44 girders of the Ho Chi Minh City approach bridge and 24 girders on the Dong Nai province side.

The My Thuan Project Management Board is proposing that the Ministry of Transport consult with localities and the inter-ministerial working group to consider and support the acceleration of procedures according to regulations to be able to exploit mines and mobilize sand to the construction site. At the same time, soon approve the policy of changing some technical solutions. Especially the solution to handle weak ground to ensure the quality of the project and shorten the construction time.

In June 2024, the Ministry of Transport submitted a document to the Prime Minister proposing to consider and approve the adjustment of the investment policy to increase the capital of Project 1A, Tan Van - Nhon Trach section (phase 1) of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 from more than VND 6,955 billion to more than VND 9,268 billion.

The total investment will be increased to build another Nhon Trach bridge similar to the one currently under construction to expand the route. At the same time, it will also add the construction of an intelligent transportation system (ITS), a non-stop toll collection system (ETC), a vehicle weight inspection station and some technical solutions...

Nhon Trach Bridge connecting Thu Duc City (HCMC) and Nhon Trach District (Dong Nai) is gradually taking shape.

Package CW2 (5.6km long approach road to both ends of Nhon Trach bridge) is worth more than 1,000 billion VND and is implemented by the joint venture of Dongbu Corporation (Korea) - VNCN E&C Construction and Engineering Investment Joint Stock Company (Vietnam).

The package will start construction in May 2023 and be completed in September 2025.

Nhon Trach Bridge is a key traffic project, of great significance to the socio-economic development of the Southeast region. When completed, this bridge will contribute to shortening the travel time between Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City, promoting trade and socio-economic development for the region.
