Player Gustavo is proposed to be recognized as a special talent, beneficial to Vietnam.

Player Sant Ana Santos Gustavo (Brazilian nationality) is being considered for Vietnamese citizenship and if successful, he will play for SHB Da Nang with the registration slot for Vietnamese players of foreign origin.

Recently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent a dispatch to the Ministry of Justice to request consideration of naturalization for player Sant Ana Santos Gustavo.

Previously, Gustavo's management unit, SHB Da Nang Sports Joint Stock Company, had sent a written report to the Vietnam Football Federation, providing some outstanding information about player Gustavo's playing process.

The document stated: "Player Gustavo has lived in Vietnam for nearly 6 years and played for many clubs in Vietnam in the V-Laegue 1 arena. He started playing in Vietnam in 2019, under the Viettel Club shirt in the context of this club returning to V-League after winning the first division championship in 2018.

Also in 2019, player Gustavo moved to play for Saigon FC in the same tournament. In 2020, Gustavo started playing in V-League 1 for Song Lam Nghe An FC, before moving to Than Quang Ninh FC in the 2021 season and with this team won 4th place overall.

From 2022-2025, Gustavo played excellently and was an indispensable piece in the Dong A Thanh Hoa squad in the V-League. Player Gustavo played most of the matches for Thanh Hoa and with the team achieved many achievements such as the bronze medal of the 2022 National Cup, the National Cup championship in the 2023 and 2023-2024 seasons, 4th place in the V-League season in 2023, the National Super Cup championship in 2023 and the silver medal of the 2024 Super Cup.

Gustavo is deeply attached to Vietnamese cultural life.
