In an interview with La Repubblica , the 22-year-old striker said he feels comfortable and happy under coach Antonio Conte. “I played in Austria before leaving Denmark when I was a child. At 22, I have had a lot of experience, but now I am in Naples and I plan to stay here,” Hojlund said.

When asked about interest from AC Milan last summer, Hojlund continued to emphasize: “What I know is that I am happy in Napoli.”

Napoli are obliged to buy Hojlund outright next summer for a fee of 44 million euros if the terms between them and MU are activated. At Old Trafford, coach Ruben Amorim also has a plan to replace Hojlund by recruiting striker Benjamin Sesko from Leipzig for a fee of 76 million euros.

After joining Conte's team, Hojlund contributed to Napoli winning all four opening Serie A matches. The Italian press also praised the Danish international's confidence and ability to adapt quickly to his new team.

In the 2022/23 season, Hojlund played for Atalanta and scored 10 goals in 34 appearances.

On September 29, Hojlund and his teammates will face AC Milan at San Siro in round 5 of Serie A.
