In 2025 alone, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province mobilized to build and repair over 70 temporary and dilapidated houses for union members, young people, and people with housing difficulties, contributing to bringing a peaceful and safe place, creating motivation for them to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Mobilizing youth and social resources

Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Minh Kien said: Mobilizing resources to build houses for young union members and households with housing difficulties is an activity maintained by the Provincial Youth Union for many years. However, since the Prime Minister , the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee launched the emulation movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the Provincial Youth Union has identified its responsibility in contributing to the completion of the province's target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.

Since then, the Provincial Youth Union has deployed and issued many documents to guide, lead and direct the Youth Union chapters from the province to the grassroots level to organize activities to promote the position and role of youth in the Movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. At the same time, it has directed 100% of the grassroots Youth Unions under its management to review the situation of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area to advise the local Party Committee, authorities and the higher-level Youth Union organizations to have support plans.

The Youth Union at all levels also integrates the Movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses into the annual work program, Youth Month, Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, etc. From there, mobilize units, individuals, and businesses with kind hearts to support funding for building new houses and repairing houses for young union members and people in difficult circumstances. In particular, establish and maintain youth volunteer teams to participate in supporting the relocation of furniture, clearing the site before starting construction, transporting materials, and supervising the construction progress and repairing houses for disadvantaged households.

Mr. Huynh Cong Phu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dai Phuoc Commune, Secretary of the Youth Union of Dai Phuoc Commune, said: More than a month ago, the commune inaugurated and handed over a 15/10 house to a family with housing difficulties. Most of the cost of building the house was mobilized by the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Youth Union, the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (Provincial Police) from benefactors and businesses. The remaining amount was contributed by the family and the locality.

Notably, the project was completed not only thanks to financial support but also with the joint efforts of many forces, in which the Youth Union in the commune directly participated in many stages: volunteering to support labor days to transport materials, supervising the construction progress. This not only contributed to saving costs, shortening construction time and ensuring the project was completed on time, but also demonstrated the responsibility of young people to the community.

Bringing safe homes

With the shared responsibility of the Youth Union and Association organizations at all levels in the Movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, it has contributed to bringing safe homes to cadres, young union members and people with housing difficulties.

Previously, when they first got married, Dieu Thi Yen and her husband (residing in Suoi Dzui hamlet, La Nga commune, Dong Nai province) rented a house in Binh Loc commune (now Binh Loc ward, Dong Nai province). However, every weekend, the couple and their young child returned to Suoi Dzui hamlet. Seeing the difficulty of the couple's travel, Yen's relatives suggested that she borrow money to build a temporary house in Suoi Dzui so that she would not have to travel far.

In addition to mobilizing funds to build and repair houses, the Provincial Youth Union also gives opportunities to change the lives of disadvantaged households by supporting family members to learn a trade, find jobs, and access preferential loans...

Due to financial constraints, the couple only borrowed money to buy new corrugated iron for the roof, and for the corrugated iron surrounding the house, they used old corrugated iron from a neighbor's house. Her husband worked far away and only came home on weekends, so the house was mainly occupied by the mother and three children. After more than two years living in the temporary house, what she could never forget were the nights when it rained heavily, and she and her children woke up because of the rain splashing on their faces.

“More than 2 months ago, when my husband and I heard that our family was supported with funding to build a house, we were very happy. In addition to the 80 million VND that we received, we also managed to build a more spacious corrugated iron house in the back. With a solid house, from now on, my husband and I only need to focus on working and taking care of our children's education,” Yen confided.

Sharing the same joy was the family of Mr. Vo Van Muoi (in Hamlet 2, Dai Phuoc Commune). On the day he opened the door to his new house, Mr. Muoi could not hide his joy. Mr. Muoi said that his family had long dreamed of having a solid house and now that wish had come true. On behalf of his family, Mr. Muoi would like to thank the Provincial Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Union of the province, and the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (Provincial Police) for helping his family have a safe home, giving him more motivation to help his family rise up to have a better life.

Not only mobilizing funds to build and repair houses for households with housing difficulties, some commune and ward Youth Unions also mobilized to build houses for Youth Union officials, former Youth Union officials, and Youth Union members. In particular, Long Ha Commune Youth Union built a house for the Secretary of the Youth Union of Le Hoan Primary School; Minh Duc Commune Youth Union built a house for the Secretary of the Youth Union of Loc Khe Hamlet; Phuoc Long Ward Youth Union built a house for a former official of Phuoc Long District Youth Union (old)... Thereby, affirming the role of companionship, vanguard, volunteerism, and responsibility of Dong Nai youth in the Movement of Joining Hands to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses, Improving People's Lives.
