Garnacho was desperate to move to Stamford Bridge so he passed up several opportunities elsewhere in the hope of joining Chelsea.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano said that in the latest move, Chelsea offered to exchange young striker Tyrique George for Garnacho but MU immediately refused.
Romano added that Garnacho had turned down big offers from Italy, Saudi Arabia, Germany and other Premier League clubs.
Speaking on his Youtube channel, he said: " I am 100% certain that Chelsea expect the Alejandro Garnacho deal to happen.
The Argentine striker himself wants the deal to be successful after turning down many other attractive offers.
There were also talks of exchanging Tyrique George for Ganrnacho but United did not like the idea proposed by the London team."
Napoli tried to sign Garnacho earlier this summer but were unsuccessful. The player's team told clubs they were exploring other options (namely Chelsea).
MU has been continuously strengthening Matheus Cunha, Mbeumo and Sesko recently. The appearance of the above expensive trio has made coach Amorim no longer concerned about Garnacho - after the conflict that arose between the two teachers and students at the end of last season.
