Promoting digital transformation in production and business

Currently, the whole province has over 9,000 operating enterprises, of which small and medium enterprises account for about 98%. Most enterprises have actively applied digital transformation in production and business activities. Up to now, 100% of enterprises, households and individual businesses have used electronic invoices ; 97% of enterprises have registered and paid taxes online; more than 3,000 enterprises use the .vn domain name; 167 enterprises and cooperatives have built e-commerce websites; 1,639 enterprises have deployed online social insurance declaration software; nearly 13,000 digital signatures have been issued to 4,872 enterprises...

Ca Mau province has signed strategic cooperation agreements with large technology corporations such as VNPT and Viettel for the 2025-2023 period, to support businesses in applying technology to production and business.

These figures show that digital transformation is no longer a trend, but has become an inevitable need. The province currently has 45 transport companies with over 670 vehicles equipped with VNPT -Tracking journey monitoring devices, contributing to improving traffic safety and management efficiency. Thousands of businesses and business households have applied sales management software , helping to optimize processes, increase productivity and revenue.

Essential service sectors are also pioneers such as: Ca Mau Electricity Company provides 100% electronic contracts; Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Center deploys 26,000 electronic contracts, both units integrate cashless payments. This is a step forward demonstrating professionalism, modernization, and at the same time bringing maximum convenience to the people.

Digital transformation is becoming the “key” for businesses to break through in the context of globalization. It not only helps businesses expand their markets and improve their management capacity, but also increases transparency, optimizes data-based decisions, and connects the national digital ecosystem. For long-term development, every business needs a suitable digital transformation strategy, considering it an inseparable part of its future orientation.

The province aims for 70% of small and medium-sized enterprises to access digital transformation platforms to improve competitiveness and innovate growth models.

Mr. Ta Hai Dang, owner of Tada Sport, shared: “Previously, managing branches far away like Ho Chi Minh City and An Giang was very difficult. Now, with just a few operations on the system, I can track inventory, revenue, and human resources intuitively and accurately. This not only saves time and costs, but also helps us focus on improving services and enhancing customer experience. Through digital data analysis, businesses quickly grasp trends, adjust products, services, and marketing strategies accordingly.”

Efforts to keep up with the trend

However, the digital transformation of Ca Mau enterprises still has many limitations, especially the uneven level of technology application, not fully exploiting the potential that the Industrial Revolution 4.0 brings.

Mr. La Van Hieu, a business owner in Tan Thanh ward, shared: “We want to apply technology but still face difficulties in declaring and managing inventory according to tax regulations. We really need support and specific guidance from the authorities to adapt promptly.”

Mr. Ta Hai Dang, owner of a business operating in the sports field with the brand Tada Sport, shared: "By analyzing data from digital platforms, we can update products and services promptly and come up with appropriate marketing strategies."

According to Mr. Le Hoang Phuoc, Chairman of the Provincial Business Association, there are currently about 30,000 business households that have been trained on electronic contracts, but only 2,200 households have implemented them (7%). The Association recommends that telecommunications enterprises such as Viettel, VNPT... accelerate implementation, setting specific targets by the end of 2025 to achieve the target set by the Provincial People's Committee. At the same time, enterprises and business households need to take advantage of incentives from Resolution 68 on private economic development.

In fact, digital transformation can help developing countries’ GDP increase by 3% per year. For Vietnam, this is an important factor to maintain sustainable growth. Ca Mau has signed strategic cooperation agreements for the 2025-2030 period with VNPT and Viettel to take advantage of resources and experience from large technology corporations, supporting businesses in applying technology in production and business, especially in key areas: aquaculture, agriculture, and tourism.

The province also aims to have 70% of small and medium-sized enterprises access digital transformation platforms by 2025, promote the application of digital infrastructure, digital economy, and innovate growth models. Effective implementation of Resolution 57 on science and technology development and Resolution 68 on supporting the private economy will be an important lever, helping enterprises break through, quickly adapt to the new context, and develop sustainably in the digital economy.
