Meaningful projects
With the motto of "sowing seeds of kindness, reaping a golden harvest in the future", the Green Warrior Volunteer Club has organized many programs with great influence and a budget of up to hundreds of millions of VND. Nguyen Van Trung, Chairman of the Green Warrior Club, shared that whether in urban areas or remote mountainous areas, there are still difficult circumstances and unfortunate lives that need help, so the Club has planned to divide the volunteer programs equally to share with the community.
In urban areas, the club focuses on monthly cooking programs, giving gifts to the homeless, mentally ill patients, and providing funds for kidney dialysis patients. In remote mountainous villages, the group prioritizes programs to develop children's education and provide livelihoods to improve the lives of people in the highlands.
Nguyen Van Trung, Club President, was moved when sharing about the project "Colors of Love" carried out by the Club's amateur "artists" at the Da Nang Mental Health Nursing Center. The members painted 11 murals to make the relaxing garden space of the Mental Health Nursing Center warmer and more comfortable, helping patients feel more peaceful in their recovery journey. During the program, the Club members also cooked 380 lunches for mentally ill patients being treated at the center.
A central wall can be a blank space... but it can also be a place to spread love and hope, when it is breathed life into with sincere drawings from the heart. Nguyen Thi Anh Duong, Faculty of Architecture, Danang University of Technology, shared: "I am very happy to be able to express my passion for painting and develop my artistic talent. I hope that the paintings will give more motivation and comfort to patients to overcome their illness and return to normal life."
Club member Nguyen Thi Thu Hien shared: "With the desire to contribute a small part of the effort to share love, the logistics team members prepare ingredients from early morning, directly select fresh food, classify and process to have a delicious, nutritious meal, ensuring food hygiene and safety to serve patients."
To add color to life
The Club's volunteer trips to the highland communes of Nam Tra My and Tra Cang are hundreds of kilometers long, with winding and dangerous mountain roads... but they cannot stop the enthusiastic footsteps of the Green Warriors members. The young people want to go there to witness the reality of the circumstances in the remote highlands, to personally give love to the children and villagers. Each trip is a valuable experience, for members to work together to do meaningful things for the community...
The more they go, the more the Green Warriors members understand to continue to implement many programs towards the community, especially children in remote areas. Since then, many meaningful charity projects have been implemented by the Club such as "Summer for Children", "Loving Lunch", "Supporting schools in mountainous areas to go to school, giving scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties"...
"Although it has only been established for more than a year, each time a charity project is carried out, it always attracts more than 40 enthusiastic volunteers to participate. The charity trips have achieved good results thanks to clear plans and transparent finances. We have continued to receive the trust and support of friends near and far, and benefactors for the next programs of the Club", shared Nguyen Van Trung, Head of the Green Warrior Club.
In the coming time, the Green Warrior Club plans to implement cooking and painting programs every month at centers, hospitals, and mental health facilities to share some of the difficulties with the patients. The journey is still long, but together we have created a beautiful start.
