Tay Tuu flower village lights up all night, forcing flowers to "stay awake" waiting for Tet.

Tay Tuu flower village is one of the largest and oldest flower growing areas in Hanoi , with nearly 300 hectares of flower growing land. This place provides a huge source of fresh flowers for Hanoi city and neighboring areas.

These days, people often keep lights on all night to encourage flowers to bloom in time for Tet. The yellow light is lit by hundreds of small fluorescent bulbs with a capacity of 15 - 20W.

Keeping the lights on continuously will stimulate the flowers to grow taller, bloom evenly and have more eye-catching colors.

Flower growers said the bulbs are lit from 6 p.m. the previous day until about 5 a.m. the next day, continuously for 30 to 45 days.

The lamp is mainly used to light the seedlings, about 5-7 days after planting.

Based on weather conditions, growers will estimate the time to light the flowers for them to bloom on time.

The bouquets of flowers that growers worked hard to harvest overnight are loaded onto trucks and prepared for delivery to traders and flower markets.

Flower fields are tended day and night by growers, bringing hope for a bumper Tet crop with higher flower prices.
