VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan attends important meeting about Asian Cup 2027

President of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan attended an important meeting organized by AFC.

On October 15, in the capital Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), the Asian Cup Organizing Committee of the Asian Football Confederation (OCAC) held its fourth meeting to review preparations for the 2027 Asian Cup finals.

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan attended the meeting in his capacity as a member of the AFC Standing Committee, Chairman of the AFC Competitions Committee and member of the Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023-2027 term.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Mariano V. Araneta, Jr., Chairman of OCAC, and attended by Committee members and leaders of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation – (representing the host country of the tournament).

With less than 450 days to go before the 2027 Asian Cup kicks off, OCAC is determined to ensure all preparations are carried out to world -class standards, aiming for the most successful Asian Cup in history.

At the meeting, OCAC members heard an updated report on the progress of key projects, including: Competition and support infrastructure; Organization and operation; Experience for fans, teams and media.  

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Mariano V.Araneta, Jr. emphasized: “AFC aims not only to organize a successful Asian Cup, but also to create a new standard in quality, scale and influence of Asian football.”

As a member of the AFC Standing Committee, Chairman of the AFC Competitions Committee and member of the Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023-2027 term, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and committee members exchanged and contributed professional opinions to ensure that the preparation work was carried out on schedule, in line with the direction set by the AFC.

The 2027 Asian Cup Finals will take place from January 7 to February 5, 2027 in five cities in Saudi Arabia, bringing together 24 of the continent's top teams. The tournament is expected to become a new milestone, affirming the position of Asian football on the world map.
