At the end of the session on August 21, the VN-Index stopped at 1,688 points, up 23 points, equivalent to 1.42%.

VN-Index opened on August 21 up more than 11 points, thanks to strong demand from banking stocks. The uptrend was maintained and expanded as cash flow poured into stocks such as TPB, MSB, STB, VIB, andOCB , with many stocks reaching ceiling prices. However, the market also showed differentiation when the number of stocks falling (194) outnumbered the number of stocks rising (119), reflecting that cash flow was not evenly distributed.

In the afternoon session, VN-Index continued to maintain green thanks to the pulling force from the banking group. However, profit-taking pressure at high prices narrowed the increase. A bright spot appeared in the second half of the session when strong demand returned to large-cap stocks such as MWG andFPT , combined with the banking group, helping VN-Index regain its upward momentum.

At the end of the session, the VN-Index stopped at 1,688 points, up 23 points, equivalent to 1.42%. Foreign investors continued to sell strongly with a total value of 2,416 billion VND, focusing on codes such as VPB, HPG, and CTG, creating certain pressure on the market.

Vietcombank Securities Company (VCBS) commented that cash flow shows signs of differentiation, focusing on large-cap stocks and certain industry groups, especially banking.

This information may make many investors think that the market may face strong fluctuations in the next session, when the supply of stocks to take profits may increase at high prices.

Meanwhile, some other securities companies said that the market on August 22 may have unexpected developments, especially in large-cap stocks and stocks with high liquidity. Investors need to closely monitor resistance and support levels to make appropriate trading decisions.

However, VCBS still recommends that investors should continue to hold stocks that are in a stable uptrend, without strong supply. At the same time, stock "players" should select stocks that show signs of successfully overcoming resistance to disburse for short-term surfing purposes.
