At the close of trading on August 12, the stock market continued to surprise when it did not make a sharp correction but set a new peak. VN-Index is currently at 1,608 points, up more than 11 points compared to the previous session; HNX Index is at 276 points while Upcom Index slightly decreased to 109.2 points.

The VN30 index continued to break out, climbing to 1,755 points, up more than 13 points compared to the previous session, with a series of large-cap stocks contributing to the general market's growth such as BID, LPB, VCB, MBB, HDB...

Liquidity continued to be a session of nearly 2 billion USD when the trading cash flow was still very active. The strong stock selling force was balanced by the cash flow waiting outside, helping the trading value on the HOSE floor reach 45,400 billion VND.

VN-Index is at its historical peak, surpassing 1,600 points.

According to the reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, the cash flow is being differentiated and shifted in many industry groups. Today's session is the rise of real estate, oil and gas, banking stocks... when many stocks hit the ceiling or increased very strongly such as KDH, CII, PDR, POW, LPB...

Just sold, the stock continues to rise strongly

Many investors did not hide their regret for selling stocks in recent sessions waiting for the market to correct down, but the VN-Index continuously increased, each peak being higher than the previous one.

Mr. Tuan Thanh (a long-time investor in Ho Chi Minh City) said that last weekend, he sold banking stocks. Yesterday, he sold securities stocks.

"At this session, seeing the VN-Index go down at the end of the morning session, I decided to sell real estate stocks. However, since the end of last week until now, the banking, securities, and real estate stocks have not adjusted. In the group of investors with me, many people also sold early waiting for the VN-Index to decrease and now are holding money and standing outside watching the market increase strongly" - Mr. Thanh lamented.

Mr. Tran Hoang Son, Director of Market Strategy, VPBankS Securities Company, commented that VN-Index reaching the threshold of 1,600 points is a figure that the market has long dreamed of. Based on the current trend compared to the end of 2024 and previous waves, it can be concluded that this is a very big wave (mega uptrend).

Many investors sold their stocks early and now stand on the sidelines watching the market continue to rise.

Last week, the average market liquidity reached a new record of VND56,000 billion/session. In addition, the market also recorded a record session of more than VND80,300 billion (more than USD3 billion). Cash flow slowed down in banking stocks but showed signs of spreading quickly to real estate, construction, and public investment. These signals show that the upward trend continues to be strong in the indices, as well as spreading widely across the market.

"In the short term, the market is still very strong, supported by extremely strong cash flow. I expect the market to continue to grow steadily during this period. However, there are also signals to watch in August. From now until the end of August, the market will have a technical adjustment, investors will have the opportunity to participate" - Mr. Son said.
