At the information conference on the 2025 high school graduation exam score distribution held on the afternoon of July 15, experts and teachers invited by the Ministry of Education and Training to comment on the score distribution to discuss with the press all assessed that this year's score distribution was generally good, not shocking, even in difficult subjects. In particular, there was no "rain of 10s" as happened in previous high school exams.
However, when comparing the number of 10 points based on the total number of candidates taking each subject, we see that there are subjects with quite a lot of 10 points.
For example, geography. In 2024, there were over 704,000 candidates taking the geography exam (in the social science combination exam), with 3,175 scoring 10 points. In 2025, the number of candidates taking the exam was less, over 476,000, but there were 6,907 scoring 10 points.
Last year, there were over 345,600 candidates taking the physics exam, with 55 candidates scoring 10 points. In 2025, there were over 347,000 candidates and 3,929 scored 10 points.
Notably, the two subjects that are considered difficult by public opinion are math and English. This year, math - a compulsory subject for both years - had 513 scores of 10, while in 2024 there were no scores of 10. In 2024, English had over 906,000 candidates taking the exam, with 565 scores of 10. This year, there were only over 351,000 candidates taking the exam, but there were 141 scores of 10...
The above figures show that "raining 10s" still appears in some subjects, contrary to experts' assessments.
