Transferring schools for 174 grade 10 students who were illegally enrolled

On November 1, information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that 174 10th grade students of To Hien Thanh High School (Ha Dong District) who were enrolled without permission will be transferred to Van Lang High School (Dong Da District).

Continuing to inform about To Hien Thanh High School enrolling 174 10th grade students for the 2024-2025 school year without permission from the management agency, on November 1, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that it had worked with relevant parties to find a solution in the spirit of ensuring the rights of students.

The proposed solution is to transfer all 10th grade students to Van Lang High School.

To ensure learning conditions for students at the transferred school, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also requested to check and review the 10th grade admission conditions of Van Lang High School.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested To Hien Thanh High School to organize a working session between the school, the board of control, 174 parents of students, and Van Lang High School to agree on a handling plan to ensure the consensus of 100% of parents.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also required To Hien Thanh High School to apologize to parents for violations in 10th grade enrollment without the department's permission.

For parents who wish to transfer to another school, the school must have instructions and create conditions for students to transfer according to regulations, and absolutely not force parents.

Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires To Hien Thanh High School to fully announce the current tuition fees and the expected tuition fees for the next 2 years of Van Lang High School to parents, ensuring transparency according to regulations. In case other fees (other than tuition fees) have been collected, To Hien Thanh High School must refund the parents.

As reported by Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, in recent days, many parents were confused when they discovered that 174 grade 10 students of To Hien Thanh High School in the 2024-2025 school year were not listed in the system of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training even though the school year had already reached the middle of the first semester.

The reason is that the school was not assigned enrollment targets for the 2024-2025 school year due to not meeting legal requirements regarding its operating location.
