Rectifying the enrollment of second degree students at Hanoi University of Business and Technology

The Ministry of Education and Training affirms that the responsibility related to training for the second degree in English language classes VB2.12, VB2.13 (A, B), VB22.01 of Hanoi University of Business and Technology is primarily the responsibility of the principal.

Previously, many students of classes VB2.12, VB2.13, VB22.01 reported that after finishing the course, they discovered that Hanoi University of Business and Technology confirmed that these were "underground" classes, not organized by the school.

Principal's responsibilities

On December 16, the Ministry of Education and Training sent a document to Hanoi University of Business and Technology on rectifying the recruitment and training of second-degree English language students.

According to the ministry, based on the inspection conclusion (No. 2201 dated June 28) of the school training for the second degree in English language classes VB2.12, VB2.13, VB22.01 and the working results of the working group verifying information on enrollment and training for people with a university degree in English language.

The Ministry said that the responsibility related to training for the second degree in English language classes VB2.12, VB2.13 (A, B), VB22.01 at Hanoi University of Business and Technology is primarily the responsibility of the principal.

The Ministry requires schools to urgently carry out tasks such as developing and implementing plans to ensure the legitimate rights of learners in accordance with regulations.

The school's implementation results must be reported to the ministry before December 28.

At the same time, send a legal representative of the school to attend the working session with the ministry to review and draw up a record of administrative violations against violations in the recruitment and organization of training for the second degree in English language for classes VB2.12, VB2.13 (A, B), VB22.01 on the morning of December 26 at the ministry's headquarters.

The school has denied responsibility.

Previously, many students of classes VB2.12, VB2.13, VB22.01 reported that after finishing the course, they discovered that the school confirmed that these were "underground" classes, not opened by the school.

On June 28, Hanoi University of Business and Technology issued the conclusion of the inspection of training for the second degree in English language for classes VB2.12, VB2.13, VB22.01.

In conclusion, the school affirmed that from the 2020-2021 school year up to now, the school has not organized enrollment for the second degree training in English language and the school principal has not allowed the placement of any second degree class nor signed a cooperation contract for training and enrollment with any unit outside the school.

The school affirms that the opening of classes to enroll and train VB2.12, VB2.13 (A, B) at Nguyen Duc Canh campus and VB22.01 class at Vu Trong Phung campus was not organized by the school but was due to the connection of a number of other individuals in the school.

"Because the opening of the above-mentioned second-degree classes is not organized by any functional agency of the school, the school is not responsible for any consequences that arise. In case school staff participate in some stages of the training process, they participate in their personal capacity, and those individuals must be responsible for their actions," the conclusion stated.

Regarding the enrollment of second-degree classes, the school affirmed that the enrollment organization was not in accordance with regulations and procedures. The signing of admission decisions by Vice Principal Vu Van Hoa without the principal's authorization was against the regulations of the ministry and the school.

Therefore, the recognition of admission to the second degree classes is unfounded and these admission decisions are invalid.
