Billiard player Duong Quoc Hoang won a ticket to the knockout round of the Hanoi Open Pool 2025 after defeating Nguyen Anh Tuan with a score of 9-0.

On the afternoon of October 9, at My Dinh Indoor Athletics Palace ( Hanoi ), the much-anticipated match between Duong Quoc Hoang and Nguyen Anh Tuan took place in the third round of the winning bracket of stage 1 of the Hanoi Open Pool Billiards Tournament 2025.

With his superior class, Duong Quoc Hoang easily won 9 consecutive games without any mistakes to beat his opponent in a very short time, less than 45 minutes. He had 7 table-clearing games, 1 game of 3-ball combination to put the 9-ball into the pocket to win 9-0.

Nguyen Anh Tuan - a veteran player who competed at the 2023 World Cup of Pool - had a rare chance to play at the table, but could only run a few strokes because Quoc Hoang hid the balls so tightly, not leaving any gaps.

This was Quoc Hoang's second overwhelming win after a convincing 9-2 victory over Dinh Chan Kiet in the previous round. It helped him maintain his unbeaten streak and earn a ticket to the knockout round.

Meanwhile, Anh Tuan will be transferred to find another opportunity in the loser's bracket.

Duong Quoc Hoang was born in 1987 in Quang Ninh, is the number 1 billiards pool player in Vietnam and currently ranked 28th in the world . He was a two-time world champion in 2019 and 2024.

Hanoi Open Pool 2025 will take place from October 8 to 12 at the My Dinh Indoor Athletics Stadium (Hanoi). The tournament will feature more than 200 domestic and foreign players, with a total prize value of up to 200,000 USD, of which the champion will receive 40,000 USD.
