"You know, your best friends, they're all passionate about something and they want to spend a little time with you and sell you on something that they think is good and positive and helpful for the country and for the world. So it's a very lonely position. I thought about it a lot during the first four years of my presidency, but now I'm keeping a certain distance from it," Ivanka added.

"Maybe, right now, I just want to come and be by his side as a daughter. Just be there with him, help him get his mind off things, sit and watch a movie with him or watch a sports match, help him relax, let him be himself, know that he is my father, in the most loving way as his daughter," Ivanka expressed.

Jared Kushner, Ivanka's husband, was also a senior advisor to Mr. Trump during his first term, but at that time, this position caused a lot of controversy.

President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in for a second term on January 20, becoming only the second person in US history to serve two non-consecutive terms.
