According to statistics released on January 26, on the first day of "Spring Transport", China recorded more than 189 million trips, an increase of nearly 20% compared to the same period last year.

According to a task force composed of representatives from the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Public Security , and China State Railway Corporation, the number of passengers using air services has increased the most, reaching 111.8%. As of January 26, more than 26 million domestic air tickets had been booked during this "Chunyun" period. At the same time, the number of passengers traveling by road, water, and rail has also increased by 16% to 78%.

Authorities estimate that the country will see 9 billion trips, with an average of 12 million passengers per day and 480 million during peak periods. This year’s Lunar New Year holiday in China will last for eight days, from February 10 to 17, longer than usual.

This is a figure that shows a significant increase in population movement during this year's "Chunyun" period. This also shows the recovery of the aviation industry and other means of transport after the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. China has taken necessary measures to ensure the safety and convenience of people during this peak period.

The Lunar New Year is not only an occasion for people to meet family and friends, which also has profound historical and cultural significance for the Chinese people, but is also a time when millions of Chinese people across the country travel en masse to return to their hometowns and participate in traditional activities.

With a significant growth in travel volume recorded during this year's "Chunyun", China is witnessing a strong economic recovery and a return to normalcy after the difficulties caused by the pandemic.
