This morning, June 30, in Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces solemnly held a ceremony to announce the resolutions and decisions of the Central and Provincial Governments on the arrangement of provincial and commune-level administrative units; ending the operation of district-level administrative units; establishing party organizations, appointing Party Committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of the provinces and communes, wards, and special zones of Quang Tri Province (new).

At the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee Le Thi Thuy announced 8 resolutions and decisions of the Central Committee on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units; ending district-level activities, and establishing communes, wards, and special economic zones under the province.

Next, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province (new) Tran Phong announced the resolutions and decisions of the province on the arrangement of administrative units at the commune, ward, and special zone levels, ending the activities of the old commune-level Party Committees and district-level Party Committees; establishing Party Committees of communes, wards, and special zones; appointing personnel for the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, and Deputy Secretary; appointing the establishment of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the commune level, appointing the Inspection Committee, the Chairman of the Inspection Committee, the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Head of the People's Council, the Chairman, and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of communes, wards, and special zones.

At the ceremony, 61 members of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and 78 Party secretaries of communes, wards and special zones were introduced to receive their duties.

In his directive speech, Party Central Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that starting from July 1, all work under the authority of the two levels must be carried out smoothly and effectively, without causing inconvenience to the people.

In the coming time, it is recommended that the new Quang Tri province must build and firmly consolidate solidarity and high consensus within the Party, government and people; promote the heroic revolutionary tradition, and arouse the aspiration to strongly develop the locality in the new era.

It is necessary to urgently shape strategic goals, planning, and orientations for sustainable and long-term development, associated with the preparation process for party congresses at all levels.

The documents of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Congress must clearly identify the key points, orientations and strategic goals in line with the new development space, on the basis of fully exploiting the outstanding potential of this land. Quang Tri needs to affirm its determination to become the economic center of the North Central region by 2030 and the center of regional and international connectivity by 2050.

Quang Tri province has determined that in the new period, it must promote its strengths in clean energy, renewable energy, high technology, logistics, and heritage - ecological - spiritual tourism; combine digital transformation, build digital government, digital society, digital economy; ensure social security, care for people's lives; maintain national defense and security, proactively conduct foreign affairs, and expand international cooperation.
