On August 19, lawyer Gary Lincenberg said that Mr. Stephen Chamberlain, 52 years old, former vice president of finance at the former company Autonomy of British technology entrepreneur Mike Lynch, was hit by a car while jogging on August 17.
The incident happened just two days before billionaire Lynch, 59, went missing along with five others when his luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily in the early morning of August 19.

Both Mr. Lynch and Mr. Chamberlain were acquitted of fraud charges in June by a San Francisco court, following allegations related to the sale of Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard (HP) for $11 billion in 2011. Prosecutors accused the pair of conspiring to inflate Autonomy's revenue before the sale to HP.
Mr. Chamberlain faces 15 of the same charges as Lynch, including one count of conspiracy and 14 counts of wire fraud.
Earlier on August 19, Cambridgeshire police appealed for witnesses to a traffic accident between a man and a car in Stretham village, Cambridgeshire.
The police statement did not name Mr Chamberlain but said a man in his 50s from Longstaton was hit by a car on the morning of 17 August and taken to hospital with serious injuries. The 49-year-old woman driving the car is working with police.
