On September 10, Mr. Nguyen Van Huy - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son special economic zone, Quang Ngai - said that the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a decision to rank the scenic spot To Vo Gate (Ly Son special economic zone, Quang Ngai) as a national relic.
To Vo Gate has long been a must-see check-in spot when traveling to Ly Son. This is a masterpiece of nature, formed 3,000 - 4,000 years ago from the lava eruption of the Gieng Tien volcano.
The cooled lava flow created a thick layer of basalt, which was then eroded by ocean waves, breaking the weak rock in the middle, leaving behind a unique dome-shaped rock mass that resembles a giant wasp's nest.
To Vo Gate is about 2.5m high and nearly 20m long, with a natural dome and layers of rough stacked stones, clearly depicting the miraculous eruption and cooling process of the volcano.
Surrounded by a beach of shiny black lava rocks of various shapes, hidden under the clear blue sea water. The wild and unique scenery makes this place a tourist symbol of Quang Ngai .
To Vo Gate is also located in a complex of valuable marine cultural spaces. This area includes many tangible heritages such as Tien Well volcano, Duc pagoda, Cau cave, Thoi Loi mountain, Xo La well, An Hai communal house, Am Linh Tu, whale skeleton exhibition house, Hoang Sa Fleet exhibition house in charge of Bac Hai and Be island.
In addition, Ly Son also has precious intangible cultural values, traces and the interaction of three generations of residents Sa Huynh, Champa and Dai Viet. Special festivals such as the Hoang Sa soldier Khao Le The festival, the Tu Linh boat racing festival, the Nghinh Ong festival, the Doi Bong festival, the Neu raising ceremony... are both religious and remind us of the history of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

To Vo Gate area is also a rich ecological environment with seagrass, coral reefs and abundant seafood resources, contributing to creating economic value and sustainable tourism.
According to the decision, People's Committees at all levels where relics are located are assigned the responsibility of managing, preserving and promoting the value of relics according to the provisions of law on cultural heritage.
With its unique beauty, rich history and profound cultural significance, To Vo Gate is not only the pride of Ly Son people, but also a national tourist attraction that captivates domestic and foreign tourists, and is a destination not to be missed by anyone coming to Ly Son Island.
