Vietnam Peacekeeping Department competes to win in special environment

On June 19, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department held the Emulation Congress for the period 2019 - 2024 chaired by Colonel Pham Manh Thang - Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department.

The congress aims to summarize the emulation and reward work and the Emulation to Win movement for the period 2019 - 2024. The congress also determines the direction, goals and tasks for the period 2024 - 2029 and honors and rewards typical and advanced collectives and individuals who have excelled in the Emulation to Win movement over the past 5 years. The Vietnam Peacekeeping Department is a focal point under the Ministry of National Defense , with the function and task of advising the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on Vietnam's participation in the United Nations peacekeeping force, advising the Minister of National Defense to help the Government carry out state management of participation in the United Nations peacekeeping force. At the same time, carry out national coordination on participation in the United Nations peacekeeping force, assist the Minister of National Defense in building, managing, commanding, directing, and operating the forces participating in the United Nations peacekeeping force under his authority and carry out other tasks assigned by the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff. Vietnam's United Nations peacekeeping forces at missions operate in environments with high potential risks to security and epidemics, and operate in harsh climates, far from the Fatherland and family. The work of commanding, directing, operating, and managing Vietnam's forces participating in United Nations peacekeeping operations at missions still faces many difficulties and shortcomings.

In that situation, in the period of 2019 - 2024, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department has had many policies and measures to lead, direct and creatively organize the emulation and reward work and the Emulation and Determination to Win movement to create motivation to promote agencies and units to successfully complete assigned tasks, build Party organizations to successfully complete tasks, and build strong and comprehensive units that are "exemplary and typical". In the period of 2024 - 2029, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department continues to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the directive of the Politburo and the Central Military Commission Standing Committee on continuing to innovate emulation and reward work, promoting the Emulation and Determination to Win movement. Discover, foster and replicate advanced models in the whole system, combine the organization of the Emulation movement to win with promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, the campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new period" focuses on the goal of successfully completing the resolution of the Party Congress. Along with that, focus on emulation to create a solid change in the quality of task performance and build discipline. The entire agency and unit always has unity of will and action, steadfast in political will, sharp in thinking and expertise, thoroughly overcome weak links and weak aspects, minimize common discipline, have no serious disciplinary violations, build a strong and clean Party organization, a strong and comprehensive unit "Exemplary, typical" and excellently complete all assigned tasks.

To date, Vietnam has dispatched more than 800 military and police officers and staff to three missions and the United Nations headquarters.
