Da Nang established a team to implement the Semiconductor and Microchip Project.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued Decision No. 460/QD-UBND on the establishment of two groups to implement the Project "Development of semiconductor chips and microchips in Da Nang City" including: Working Group and Consulting Group. This Decision replaces Decision No. 2855/QD-UBND dated December 25, 2023.

Accordingly, the Working Group researches, develops and coordinates the implementation of the Project "Developing semiconductor chips and microcircuits in Da Nang City"; advises and proposes mechanisms and policies for developing microcircuits and semiconductors in the area, headed by: Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh as Head of the Working Group; Director of the Department of Information and Communications (TT&TT) Nguyen Quang Thanh as Standing Deputy Head; 2 Deputy Heads include Director of the Department of Science and Technology Le Duc Vien, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Tran Thi Thanh Tam.

The Da Nang City government is actively calling on the world's leading enterprises in the field of semiconductor chips and microchips to invest in the city.

The Advisory Group is to advise, comment, and contribute to the content of the Project "Development of semiconductor chips and microchips in Da Nang City" and related policies to develop microchips and semiconductors in the area. The City People's Committee invited Dr. Nguyen Thien Nghia, Deputy Director in charge of the Department of ICT Industry - Ministry of Information and Communications to be the Head of the Group; Director of the Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Quang Thanh to be the Standing Deputy Head of the Group.

The Working Group is responsible for advising and assisting the People's Committee of Da Nang City in coordinating, developing and implementing the Project "Developing semiconductor chips and microchips in Da Nang City" and implementing solutions to develop the microchip and semiconductor industry in the area; Researching and proposing policies and strategies to develop semiconductors and microchips in the area; Proposing policies to attract investment, research and train high-quality human resources to develop the semiconductor chip industry in Da Nang City.

At the same time, research the mechanism to attract leading experts in the field of microchips and semiconductors to Da Nang to transfer knowledge and experience in many forms such as investment cooperation, short-term and long-term work, association in training, scientific research or participation in events, conferences and seminars in the city; Research and propose the addition of the field of microchips and semiconductors to the investment and lending fields of the City Development Investment Fund; Advise and help the City People's Committee to implement the contents and targets of the Project and develop a plan to implement the Project; organize inspection, monitoring and urging the implementation of the Project's tasks; advise on funding sources to improve the effectiveness of the Project's implementation; advise on preliminary and final work, adjustment and supplementation of the Project's contents in accordance with the reality of each stage.

The members of the Working Group work part-time. The Team Leader decides on the assignment of tasks to the members and uses the unit's seal to handle the work of the Working Group. The Deputy Team Leader uses the seal of the working agency to issue documents of the Working Group. The operating expenses of the Working Group are guaranteed by the state budget according to regulations.

The Advisory Group is responsible for assisting the City People's Committee in providing advice and feedback on the content of the Project "Development of semiconductor chips and microchips in Da Nang City" and related policies and guidelines to develop the semiconductor chip and microchip industry in the area; Participate in the city's expert conferences and seminars related to the development of semiconductor chips and microchips.

The Team Leader decides on the assignment of tasks to members and uses the unit's seal to handle the work of the Advisory Team. The Deputy Team Leader uses the seal of the working agency to issue documents of the Advisory Team. The operating expenses of the Advisory Team are guaranteed by the state budget according to regulations.
