According to the 2025 enrollment announcement of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, this year's enrollment target of this university is 9,680, an increase of 420 compared to last year. In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will still maintain 3 admission methods. Notably, this unit will increase the admission quota with the admission method based on the thinking assessment test scores, and reduce the quota with the admission method based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores.

Specifically: the method of selecting talented people is still allocated the same quota ratio as last year, about 20%; the method of selecting people based on thinking assessment test scores is about 40% (an increase of 10% compared to last year); the method of selecting people based on 2025 high school graduation exam scores is about 40% (a decrease of 10% compared to last year).

With the talent selection method, the selection subjects are the same as last year: direct selection of excellent students according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; selection based on international certificates; selection based on capacity records combined with interviews.

For admission based on thinking assessment test scores, candidates who want to participate in the admission must take the thinking assessment test (TSA) organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology, have graduated from high school, and meet the TSA score threshold set by Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

For admission based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores, candidates must take the 2025 high school graduation exam, have graduated from high school, and meet the minimum score set by Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Hanoi University of Science and Technology also maintains the same 10 admission combinations and main subjects as previous years, including: A00, A01, A02, B00, D01, D04, D07, D26, D28 and D29.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology added a new admission combination, K01, including the following subjects: math, literature, physics/chemistry/biology/IT. In which math and literature are two compulsory subjects, combined with one of four subjects: physics, chemistry, biology or IT with a coefficient.
