Detailed Structure of the TSA Exam

With the desire to bring the Thinking Assessment exam of developed countries in the world to Vietnamese students, in recent years, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has conducted research, designed and implemented the organization of the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA).

The goal of the TSA test is to assess three fundamental thinking skills of students, including: Mathematical Thinking, Reading Comprehension, and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving, important factors that help students learn best in a higher education environment.

The TSA exam is organized in a streamlined and effective manner, applying advanced testing technologies, approaching modern thinking assessment exams in the world, such as SAT, ACT...

To comply with the new general education program of the Ministry of Education and Training , the content and format of the TSA exam have been implemented according to the design and will remain stable for many years to come.

Accordingly, the test consists of 3 parts: Mathematical Thinking (60 minutes), Reading Comprehension (30 minutes) and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving (60 minutes). These are 3 independent parts, the test questions will focus on assessing the thinking ability of the candidate in each part, not directly testing the knowledge of any subject. The test is in the form of multiple choice on the computer, the test results will be valid for 2 years to serve the university admission work.

Many modern testing technologies have been applied to the Exam such as technology to build standardized thinking test questions, bridge theory in the exam, technology to score exams according to the multi-parameter IRT model, automatic check-in technology according to CCCD cards integrated with the personal data management system on the National Population Database to identify candidates taking the exam to completely prevent exam fraud and cheating in exams...
