"Yesterday, the line to buy gold was even longer than today. I plan to buy 5 more taels for luck and to save. The price of plain round gold rings is usually quite close to the world gold price, and there are no processing costs, so it's easy to buy and sell," said Ms. Loan.

Opening at 9am, but around 9:30am, Bao Tin Minh Chau store in Cau Giay District had already distributed gold sales numbers to 105. Only those who bought plain round gold rings had to take a number to line up, while other gold products were sold as usual. At 9:15am, the store officially started selling gold, but around 10am, they called for number 20.

"When I asked with number 105 how long it would take for my turn, the sales staff advised that it would be at least 2-3 hours later. I was a bit impatient but did not dare to skip my turn because if I called the number and it was not there, when I came back I would have to queue again from the beginning. I was determined to wait in line all morning to buy gold," said Ms. Tran Thi Hoa (residing in Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi), owner of number 105.

Many other customers, although quite "impatient" due to having to wait a long time, accepted it in order to be able to buy the gold they wanted.

For Phu Quy Gold and Gemstone Group, plain rings are also quite popular items. According to Thanh Nien sources, the quantity of plain rings Phu Quy prepared for the occasion of God of Wealth Day this year is the same as last year. Every day, Phu Quy sells a certain quantity of plain rings, and stops when they run out.

"Normally, plain round rings are sometimes available, sometimes not. Some days, Phu Quy has goods for immediate delivery, but they usually run out quite early. Currently, due to preparing goods for the God of Wealth's day, the store has a certain number of rings," said a Phu Quy representative.

Be careful when spending money to avoid losses.

In general, this year, the amount of gold Phu Quy prepared to serve people's needs from the 6th to the 10th of January is less than last year. Notably, in addition to gold products, Phu Quy launched a product line combining both silver and gold with the meaning of praying for wealth and health.

"From now until the 10th, the store will be very crowded with customers. Currently, the supply is very limited so there is definitely not enough. On the occasion of God of Wealth Day last year, we sold until about 10:30 and there was no more gold to sell. This year is expected to be similar," said Mr. Mai Huy Tuan, Deputy General Director of Phu Quy Gold and Gemstone Group.

Regarding SJC gold bars, according to Phu Quy representative, during the past time, the company has had almost no goods to sell. Customers rarely sell so Phu Quy cannot buy SJC gold bars, so there is no goods to sell.

According to financial and banking expert Nguyen Tri Hieu, this year, the supply of gold is scarce, so the price of gold on the occasion of God of Wealth Day will increase, and may even increase sharply. However, right after God of Wealth Day, the price of gold usually drops quite sharply.

"It's okay for people to buy a little for luck, but if they plan to buy gold for investment, they should consider putting money down at the right time to avoid losses," the expert noted.
